Procedure for nominal registration

Are you the owner of one or more bonds to bearer of the loan National Company of Local Railways January-July 3% 3rd and 4th series?
Then you must turn them in in order to acquire a nominal registration in the electronic register.

Why?

To comply with the law of 14 December 2005 regarding the abolition of shares to bearer, the Flemish and Walloon Regions decided to abolish the NMVB bonds to bearer and to retain only the nominal bonds.

As owner you are informed that in order to safeguard your rights as bondholder you must request that the Flemish Transport Company De Lijn, administrator of the loans, converts your bonds to bearer into nominal bonds.

Follow the guidelines below so that you receive your interest and any drawn capital without problems on 1 January 2008 and this directly on your bank account.

Please note: your request for nominal registration is only admissible after the bonds for which you requested conversion are handed over to the National Cashier (National Bank of Belgium) in Brussels or in one of its branches.

What should you do?

• Complete the form for depositing bonds (pdf - 18KB) (Dutch version).
  
• Hand over the bonds to the National Bank of Belgium or via your bank, which will pass them on to the NBB.
  

The form for completion

On this form you mention:

• the personal details of the depositor
  
• all details necessary for the nominal registration
  
• the details of the bonds to be delivered
  
• the bank account number where interest and capital can be paid out
  
• please note: the moveable advanced levy exemption is not applicable for private citizens
  

You will receive a signed for receipt copy (for the customer/owner) as proof of deposit from the NBB (or your bank) after the bonds are handed in and checked (value and numbers).

Another copy, intended for the NBB, remains with the deposited bonds.

The original, intended for De Lijn, is turned in with the bonds and sent to De Lijn by the NBB.

Do not forget to include a recto-verso copy of your identity card with the form.

Proof of registration

After De Lijn has received confirmation from the NBB that your bonds were deposited, it will send you a proof of registration together with details of the registered nominal bonds. Please check this information. If it includes errors, contact De Lijn immediately.
