Accessible with tram 1
Tram line 1 will take you from Evergem/Wondelgem via the centre and the Sint-Pieters station to Flanders Expo and back. You will be dropped off almost at the door to the venue.
The frequency varies between 5 and 23 minutes (depending on the peak hours), the travelling time between Sint-Pieters station and Flanders Expo is 7 to 8 minutes.
Combiticket trade shows
To encourage the use of public transport from and to trade shows at Flanders Expo, combi tickets were introduced for some trade shows. Whether combi tickets are available can be checked on the trade show website. This combi ticket allows return travel with De Lijn on the date you visit the trade show in East Flanders and includes entry to the trade show at Flanders Expo.
Night Events (I Love Techno, Bassleader, ...)
With night events additional trams are often scheduled at the request of the organiser. For I Love Techno trams will even operate throughout the night.
For the majority of night events the price of one trip by tram 1 is included in the entry ticket price to the event. You simply have to present your entry ticket to the driver or any inspection.
Events in Gent centre: P+R
To reach the centre easily and stress-free, you can park your car for events in the centre (e.g. Gentse Feesten) at the P+R car park(s) and take the tram. During the Gentse Feesten the trams will operate around the clock and with even higher frequency.
The car park is free of charge, a valid ticket is required on the tram. If you do not have a pass or other ticket, then you can always purchase one at the presales point at the tram stop. If the sales counters are not open there is a ticket machine as well.
Please note! Use of P+R during trade shows at Flanders Expo
Would you like to use the Flanders Expo car park to travel to the centre while there is a trade show or other event at Flanders Expo? Then pay attention that you part in the special P+R car park, otherwise you have to buy a special parking ticket at the trade show counters in Flanders Expo - and therefore not at the tram counters.
You can only park free of charge at the special P+R car park during trade shows/events in Flanders Expo if you want to travel to the centre.
The special P+R car park is clearly indicated on the signposts when you drive into Flanders Expo.
