We give you the options, you choose.
MaaS
In addition to this physical integration, we also play a role in digital integration. The two are inextricably linked. MaaS stands for ‘mobility as a service’, meaning that the traveller gains access via a digital platform to sustainable transport services offered by various transport operators (both public and private).
The solution includes real-time multimodal travel information, a payment system and coordinated transport networks and timetables. As a result, combined mobility travel becomes comfortable and accessible. De Lijn plans to become an active MaaS provider and help support other initiatives.
Price steers demand
Finally, a good pricing policy can help steer combined modality behaviour. Within a MaaS platform, we ensure that a customer can find, buy and bundle all possible transport tickets – for example, a bus or train ride, a shared bicycle or a shared car.
In addition, we want to use tariff differentiation and integration to steer transport flows. De Lijn is therefore calling for greater autonomy in the field of pricing policy. We would like to charge prices based on location, the time or duration of your journey or the chosen mode. At the same time, simplicity in pricing structure, social adjustments and integration across transport regions and public transport operators remain important principles.
SMOP
We are currently working with NMBS-SNCB, MIVB-STIB and TEC to develop a Smart Mobility Planner (SMOP). Here, travellers will be able to look up all information from all public transport operators easily and quickly.
