<Voeg een paragraaftitel toe>
In addition to the travel available during the day, De Lijn West Flanders also offers a range of evening and night transport in and around Ostend. After an evening out, night school or work, the Ostend Evening Line and the Coastal Tram ensure that you reach your destination safely, inexpensively and quickly. Moreover, you can enjoy a glass of wine and don't have to worry about parking your vehicle.
The Evening Line
The Ostend Evening Line brings you home quickly and comfortably during the week until 10.30 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays until 2.30 a.m. The Marie-Joséplein works as the hub in this. All 8 Evening Lines come here every half an hour (at 9.30 p.m., 10.30 p.m., etc.). You can transfer there from one Evening Line to another.
In Ostend and Bredene there are five City Evening Lines:
- 81 Evening line Conterdam - Centrum
- 85 Evening line Stene Dorp
- 86 Evening line Raversijde
- 89 Evening line Bredene
These Evening Lines follow a fixed timetable and you can get on or get off at any stop. The major stops are Ostend Station and Ostend Marie-Joséplein.
For residents of Zandvoorde, Oudenburg, Gistel and Middelkerke there are Suburban Evening Lines:
- 82 Evening line Zandvoorde - Oudenburg
- 83 Evening line Gistel
- 84 Evening line Middelkerke (only on Fridays and Saturdays)
These Evening Lines do not have a fixed route or timetable. In other words, they use a demand dependent system. When boarding in Ostend (at the Station or the Marie-Joséplein) you simply tell the driver where (at which stop) you would like to get off. Depending on the number of passengers, the driver chooses the shortest route. The possible stops are indicated on the Evening Line map.
To travel from Zandvoorde, Oudenburg, Gistel or Middelkerke to Ostend, get on at the fixed boarding point in this area.
- Zandvoorde: Zandvoorde Markt
- Oudenburg: Oudenburg Plaats
- Gistel: Gistel Stadhuis
- Middelkerke: Leffinge Dorp
The Coastal Tram
The evening frequency of the Coastal Tram has been increased considerably. You can travel between De Panne and Knokke until approximately 0.30 a.m. and in the summer until 1.30 a.m. The stops Ostend Station and Ostend Marie-Joséplein are located in the centre of the city near restaurants and the entertainment district. The stop Ostend Renbaan is by Kinepolis' door.
