De Lijn Flex in the province of Antwerpen

The province of Antwerp is divided into 3 regions. In the Antwerp Region, there is area-wide Flex transport. In the Mechelen Region, there are 2 flex areas: Klein-Brabant and Boortmeerbeek – Bonheiden – Heist-op-den-Berg. In the Kempen, there are 5 flex areas. Antwerpen Region 

Antwerpen Region flex area 

From now on you can use flexible transport in Antwerpen. The flexbus operates in the municipalities of Aartselaar, Antwerpen (except the area within the R1), Beveren-Kruibeke-Zwijndrecht, Boechout, Boom, Brasschaat, Brecht, Edegem, Essen, Hemiksem, Hove, Kalmthout, Kapellen, Kontich, Lier, Lint, Malle, Mortsel, Niel, Ranst, Rumst, Schelle, Schilde, Schoten, Stabroek, Wijnegem, Wommelgem, Wuustwezel, Zandhoven and Zoersel. 

For practical reasons, the flexible transport service is divided into two areas: Antwerpen Region Linkeroever and Rechteroever. We are currently adapting the information on our website to the new network, which will start in early January. You will soon be able to use the links below to see which stops you can take the flexbus at:

The flexbus is on the road in this region on the following days and at the following times:

The distance of a flex ride in Antwerp can be a maximum of 10 kilometers.

Kempen  Region

Starting from 5 January 2026, we will simplify the flex zones in the Kempen, increasing travel options in the eastern and southern municipalities of the transport region.

From then on, you can use the flex bus in 3 large and 2 smaller flex zones. In all these zones, the flex bus operates on the following days and times:

The distance of a flex ride in the Kempen can be up to 20 kilometres.

  • The South Kempen flex zone includes (in whole or in part) the municipalities of Berlaar, Grobbendonk, Heist-op-den-Berg, Herselt, Herentals, Herenthout, Hulshout, Laakdal, Nijlen and Westerlo.

  • The East Kempen flex zone includes (in whole or in part) the municipalities of Balen, Dessel, Geel, Herentals, Meerhout, Mol, Olen and Retie.

  • The Kordia flex zone includes (in whole or in part) the municipalities of Baarle-Hertog, Beerse, Kasterlee, Lille, Merksplas, Oud-Turnhout, Turnhout and Vosselaar.

Mechelen Region

Boortmeerbeek – Bonheiden – Heist-op-den-Berg flex area 

  • In concrete terms, you can use flexible transport in the Boortmeerbeek – Bonheiden – Heist-op-den-Berg flex area in the municipalities of Berlaar, Bonheiden, Boortmeerbeek, Bornem, Heist-op-den-Berg and Putte.

  • In Heist-op-den-Berg you can also use two flexbuses from the Kempen.

Klein-Brabant flex area 

  • We’re expanding the Klein-Brabant flex area. You can now also rely on flexible transport in the north of Willebroek, so the Klein-Brabant flexbus serves the municipalities of Bornem, Puurs-Sint-Amands and Willebroek.
