De Lijn Flex in the province of Antwerpen

The province of Antwerp is divided into 3 regions. Flex transport is available throughout the Antwerp region. In the Mechelen Region, there are 2 flex areas: Klein-Brabant and Boortmeerbeek – Bonheiden – Heist-op-den-Berg. In the Kempen, there are 5 flex areas. Antwerpen region 

Antwerpen region flex area 

From now on you can use flexible transport in Antwerpen. The flexbus operates in the municipalities of Aartselaar, Antwerpen (except the area within the R1), Beveren-Kruibeke-Zwijndrecht, Boechout, Boom, Brasschaat, Brecht, Edegem, Essen, Hemiksem, Hove, Kalmthout, Kapellen, Kontich, Lier, Lint, Malle, Mortsel, Niel, Ranst, Rumst, Schelle, Schilde, Schoten, Stabroek, Wijnegem, Wommelgem, Wuustwezel, Zandhoven and Zoersel. 

Flexible transport is divided into two areas: the Antwerp Linkeroever region and the Antwerp Rechteroever region. Starting July 1, 2026, the Antwerp (Linkeroever) flexible transport area will be expanded to cover the entire territory of Beveren-Kruibeke-Zwijndrecht, thereby taking over service for the boroughs of Kruibeke, Bazel, and Rupelmonde. These boroughs will remain part of the Waasland (East) flexible transport area until June 30, 2026.

Kempen region

You can use the flex bus in 3 large and 2 smaller flex zones. In all these zones, the flex bus operates on the following days and times:

The distance of a flex ride in the Kempen region can be up to 20 kilometres.

  • The South Kempen flex zone includes (in whole or in part) the municipalities of Berlaar, Grobbendonk, Heist-op-den-Berg, Herselt, Herentals, Herenthout, Hulshout, Laakdal, Nijlen and Westerlo.

Mechelen Region

  • The Klein-Brabant flex area consists of the municipalities of Bornem, Puurs-Sint-Amands, and Willebroek. Starting July 1, 2026, you will also be able to travel to and from the Londerzeel station.
