Leuven: children draw the mobility of the future
The very first fully electric articulated bus in Leuven received a special and festive look: the bus was completely decorated with colorful drawings by schoolchildren from Leuven.
This is how we want to engage young generations in the future of mobility. The drawing contest, organized together with the city of Leuven, challenged students from the third grade and up to draw their dreams about green transportation. How will you commute to work sustainably in the future? With a drone? In an electronic rickshaw? Or swimming with environmentally conscious dolphins? Anything was possible, anything was allowed.
No fewer than 24 classes from 9 elementary schools participated in the contest. A jury chose four winning entries. These came from De Mozaïek and Boven-Lo elementary school. Through this initiative, De Lijn emphasizes its climate ambitions and turns sustainable mobility into a story for and by children.
