Brugge: Children draw the mobility of the future
The very first fully electric articulated bus in Brugge received a special and festive look: the bus was completely decorated with colorful drawings by schoolchildren from Brugge.
This is how we want to engage young generations in the future of mobility. The drawing contest, organized together with the city of Brugge, challenged students from the second grade and up to draw their dreams about green transportation. How will you commute to work sustainably in the future? With a drone? In an electronic rickshaw? Or swimming with environmentally conscious dolphins? Anything was possible, anything was allowed.
No fewer than 20 classes from 6 primary schools took part in the competition. A jury selected four winning entries. They came from De Zonnetuin 5A (Sint-Kruis), Roezemoes 6th grade (Zeebrugge), Het Kleurenpalet – world class 2nd to 6th grade (Bruges) and Olva De Touwladder 5A (Bruges). With this action, De Lijn underlines its climate ambitions and also makes sustainable mobility a story for and by children.
