Emission-free public transport: what it entails
We are working towards completely emission-free public transport by 2035. This means electrifying our bus fleet and modernising supporting systems. The data from the e-buses provides a lot of additional information, for example about the condition of the batteries.
Electrifying the fleet
Our fleet consists of approximately 2,100 buses under our own management and 1,500 run by partner operators.
Converting depots
About 50 of our own depots will be adapted for e-buses, along with 90 depots of our partners.
Introducing IT systems
for better planning of bus maintenance
for better use of real-time journey information in passenger communication
for efficient space management at depots
for quick, cheap and efficient recharging of e-buses
By means of these steps we are working towards a sustainable future for public transport.
