MOBIB card
The MOBIB card isn’t a ticket, but a carrier for tickets. Think of the card as being like a bank card onto which you can load your tickets or passes.
All types of travel passes are held on a MOBIB card.
Easy to use
Your MOBIB card is ready for immediate use. You can travel with it on the bus or tram from the start date of your travel pass:
Scan your card whenever you get on or off.
Hold the card in front of the blue circle at the bottom of the yellow scanner.
You can carry on into the vehicle when the tick on a green field appears.
Don’t scan your card when you get off.
If there’s a ticket inspection, show your MOBIB card with the travel pass and your identity card.
Scan your MOBIB card whenever you get on. It’s simple and mandatory.
Administrative fee
You pay a 6-euro administrative fee per MOBIB card. This covers the purchase, personalisation and distribution of the MOBIB card.
Your card will remain valid for five years.
Has your card’s validity period expired?
The MOBIB card is valid for 5 years, so you enjoy a 5-year warranty on the card in the event of any technical defect.
If your MOBIB card has expired, you can continue to use it until you next renew your travel pass, but the warranty will no longer be valid in the event of a technical defect. When you receive the next travel pass renewal proposal, you’ll pay another 6-euro administrative fee for a new MOBIB card.
Note: You can’t put any new products on an expired card. If you’re purchasing new products, apply for a new MOBIB card here. Choose the option ‘Some other question or something you wish to report about your travel pass’ on the form and fill in your application.
