Our employees are still more than their job

You often encounter them: our drivers, inspectors, staff at the Lijnwinkel, … During their working hours, they play an important societal role, although they are, of course, more than just their job. They are people of flesh and blood – and that deserves respect.

We often come into contact

Everyone who works for a public transport company plays an important societal role. This applies not only to us but also to the colleagues at SNCB, LETEC, STIB-MIVB, and FBAA. Far too often, they find themselves in tense situations. They are closest to you and have to deal with insults, physical or verbal aggression. This has a significant impact and shows little respect.

Together, we take a clear stance: 'We are human beings made of flesh and blood, and we want to be treated with respect. Every case of aggression is taken seriously.'

That is why we are relaunching the respect campaign

We are restarting the respect campaign from November 16th. This date is not chosen by chance: it is the International Day for Tolerance. This day emphasizes the importance of living together in diversity and treating each other and our differences with respect. This aligns perfectly with our campaign. We explicitly ask for our employees to be treated with respect, even when it is busy, tensions rise, or opinions clash. We show that our employees are flesh-and-blood human beings. And the respect they receive for who they are outside their job should also be present during working hours.

That is why we portrayed employees of De Lijn, LETEC, STIB-MIVB, and SNCB and asked them to look directly into the lens. We show what makes them unique beyond their work. One is a music enthusiast and dad, another is an amateur chef or dog owner.

In two directions

Respect works in two directions. Our employees are ready for you every day and deserve respect, just as you as a traveler deserve to be helped correctly and kindly. Together, we make public transport more pleasant and safer. Will you already contribute? Will you help create a safe working environment where tolerance is the norm? Will you give our colleagues the respect they deserve? Thank you very much.
