Organisation
De Lijn is the Flemish government-owned enterprise that provides public bus and tram transport in Flanders. Every year, some 3.5 million people use our services one or more times.
De Lijn is a centrally managed organisation with decentralised operations for those services that need to be on the ground and close to the customers. In this way, it contributes to the new Flemish transport model constructed around fifteen transport regions. The head office is located at Motstraat 20, 2800 Mechelen (company number BE 0242 069 537). In 2024, De Lijn offered approximately 208 million vehicle kilometres. It runs three tram networks (Antwerp, Ghent and the Coastal Tram); about half of the bus services are outsourced to external operators.
