Good points for clean metro stations

Achieving at Least 85 Out of 100

Every month, around 2.2 million passengers use our Antwerp metro stations. Previous customer surveys indicated that there was room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. It also showed that some stations require a more specific approach.

Spring showers, renovation and maintenance works, external elements, post-event crowds, or societal issues can impact cleanliness. Therefore, our cleaning methods vary from station to station. We've developed this tailored approach together with you (our travelers) and our partners— and put it into practice.

And it's paying off! We can already see clear progress. Each month, the average scores from our quality checks are rising towards our goal of (at least) 85 out of 100 on our cleanliness scale.

A Big Difference – Thanks to You Too

Cleaner stairways, tidier ticket halls, cleaner platforms... It all contributes to a more pleasant atmosphere throughout the entire metro network.

You can help with this too. For example, trash belongs in the trash bin. And if you encounter unhygienic conditions in our metro stations, you are always welcome to report it.

We continue to structurally monitor the cleanliness of our metro stations, adjust regularly, and uphold clear standards. Because a neat metro is not a luxury, but the least you can expect when traveling by public transport.
