12 new escalators

To improve accessibility at Diamant station, De Lijn is investing in 12 new escalators. The work will last until the end of 2026. During this period, accessibility will be limited, so we recommend that travelers plan their journey via Astrid station. The schedule, however, will remain unchanged during the works.

General information

The Diamant metro station is located next to Central Station on Pelican Street.

Entrances

You can access Diamant metro station in various ways. Use

  • the entrance in Centraal Station. This will take you to the ticket hall of Diamant metro station on -1, where you will also find a ticket machine.

  • the entrance on -2 in Centraal Station. This leads to a mezzanine, where you can also buy a valid ticket from a ticket machine.

  • the above-ground entrances on Keyserlei and the corner of Pelikaanstraat and Centraal Station;

  • the underpass under Astridplein, by which you can also reach Astrid metro station;

  • the underground exit of Albert Heijn.

Lines

At the metro station you can take lines 2, 6, 9 and 15.

Escalators

The metro station is equipped with 12 escalators.

The escalators are currently under repair. These are severely outdated and spare parts at our maintenance partner are unfortunately becoming scarce. We hope to soon be able to deliver the news that the non-functioning escalators are functioning again to take our passengers to and from the platforms effortlessly.

These descending escalators are out of service:

  • Descending escalator from Astridplein/Central Station to the ticket hall

  • Descending escalator from Keyserlei to the ticket hall (corner Pelikaanstraat and Keyserlei)

  • Descending escalator from the ticket hall at -2 to the platform towards Plantin

These ascending escalators are out of service:

  • Ascending escalator from the platform towards Plantin to the ticket hall at -2

  • Ascending escalator from the ticket hall to the exit at Astridplein/Central Station

  • Ascending escalator from the ticket hall at -2 to the ticket hall at -1

  • Rising escalator from the ticket hall to the exit on the corner of Keyserlei/Pelikaanstraat

  • Ascending escalator from the platform towards Plantin to the ticket hall at -2

  • There are 2 elevators in this station.
