The accessibility is severely disrupted due to irreparable escalators.
In the first half of 2026, preparatory work will begin for the renewal of the 8 escalators at Plantin station. During this work, access to the station may temporarily experience disruptions. The work will not affect the timetable.
General information
Entrances
You can access Plantin metro station in various ways. For example, use the entrances on Mercatorstraat, Plantin en Moretuslei or Simonstraat.
Lines
At the metro station you can take lines 2, 6, 9 and 15.
Escalators
The metro station is equipped with 8 escalators.
Due to being too old, there are a lot of problems with the escalators in this station. Most problems are also of a permanent nature and therefore irreparable.
These escalators are out of service:
from the street side at the railway to the ticket hall at -1
from the street side of the city park to the ticket hall
from the ticket hall at -1 to the exit, side of the railway
from the ticket hall at -1 to the exit, side of the city park
the descending escalator from the ticket hall to the platform towards Diamant
the ascending escalator from the platform, Diamant side, to the ticket hall
the rising escalator from the platform towards Berchem station and the Belgiëlei
Elevators
The metro station has no elevators.
