How it works

There are three ways of contributing to the cost of tickets:

Cheaper or free single tickets one way or return

For example, you can enable residents to travel by bus to or from the weekly market for free or more cheaply.

You decide on which day(s) and within which area this ticket is valid, only within the city or municipal boundaries or on all direct connections to and from the center.

This way you can also easily attract visitors from surrounding cities or municipalities. As a city or municipality you get an 18% discount on the standard ticket price.

Free ticket P+R

The Park+Ride ticket is always free for the traveler and valid every day. You can park in one or more car parks on the edge of the city, the return journey to and from the center is done by bus.

Handy for a day of shopping, for example. As a city or municipality you also receive a 38% discount on the standard ticket price.

Cheaper or free day passes

Travellers presenting this pass can travel anywhere on the De Lijn network for a whole day.

It’s especially useful in larger cities, for multiple trips to every corner of the city.

You can offer these three types of ticket or pass on these media: cards, sms or trough app/website.

For free or cheaper

If you go for the free option, the traveller will receive a free ticket or pass. As a municipality you will then pay a fixed price for each free ticket provided, If you opt for a cheaper ticket or pass, the traveller will pay a reduced rate. As a city or municipality you cover the difference between the fixed price and what the traveller pays, for every ticket sold.

There is also an administrative start-up cost for both options, the amount of which depends on the type of medium. Ask your customer manager for details.

P+R ticket

If you provide a free ticket that can be used every day on a route between the city centre and a P+R car park (max. 3.5 km from the centre), as a municipality you will be given a discount of 25% on the fixed price.
