Information about public transport
Cities, towns and municipalities are major partners in disseminating information about public transport. Local residents and passengers want to receive information about the services offered by De Lijn in their city, town or municipality, and bus and tram routes and timetables.
What can the local authority do?
Disseminating information
De Lijn can provide your city, town or municipality with tailor-made information about, for instance, timetables, prices and tickets, third-party payer schemes, etc. It enables you to distribute this information through various channels: the municipal information magazine, the municipal website, the regional press, letters to local residents, information days, etc.
De Lijn also provides counter displays with regional and city brochures. The displays can be used in town halls and public buildings such as a library, cultural center or hospital.
Promoting public transport
Make it clear to your local residents that their city, town or municipality pursues a well-designed public transport policy. For instance, you can arrange for a De Lijn information bus to be present at weekly markets if you introduce a third-party payer scheme, or turn the inauguration of a new bus or tram shelter into a special event. De Lijn will be pleased to help you prepare such events.

Applying for a customised service
Does your city, town or municipality want to introduce a specific bus service (e.g. market buses, shopping buses, etc.) over and above the existing services?
