Are you recognised by or registered with a recognised body? Or are you travelling with someone with a disability? If so, you are entitled to a free ticket or pass.
I have a disability
You may qualify for a free Buzzy Pazz or Omnipas if you live in the Flemish region and:
are registered with the Flemish Agency for People with Disabilities (VAPH)
receive an allowance from the Federal Public Service Social Security (FODSZ-SPFSS)
receive a care budget for elderly people with a care need from your health insurance fund
are entitled to special employment support measures (BTOM) from the Flemish Public Employment and Vocational Training Service (VDAB)
Please contact one of these authorities if you think you are entitled to a free subscription. As soon as we receive your information from one of these 4 official agencies, we will send you a letter for a free subscription.
The free subscription is on a MOBIB card. This card costs 6 euros (administration fee), and remains valid for 5 years.
If you haven’t received a letter, contact the Travel Pass department.
I have a visual impairment
You travel for free by bus or tram on presentation of your National Public Transport Discount Card. You can also bring a guide dog with you for free.
The National Public Transport Discount Card is valid on all De Lijn buses and trams except for the Student Express Lines 178 and 179.
Those entitled to the card can apply for it online using the application form on this website.
I travel with an accompanying person
If you travel with an accompanying person on a bus or tram, he or she can travel with you for free.
Apply for a free accompanying person’s card from NMBS-SNCB for this. You may bring a maximum of one accompanying person with you on your card.
