The Flemish Government has decided to scrap subsidies for bus stop facilities. However, subsidies for accessible bus stops will be increased.
What kind of shelter accommodation can you have installed?
Shelters
Our range of contemporary and modern shelters are available with a green roof. The benefits of this?
It is low-maintenance.
It filters fine particles.
It helps lower temperatures in urban environments on hot days.
It retains rainwater longer.
It promotes more biodiversity.
All our shelters are equipped with solar-powered lighting with a twilight switch and LED lighting. There is no need for a connection to the electricity grid. Each type of shelter is also available in vandal-proof design with a steel back wall and perforated steel front and side walls.

Bicycle shelters
In the Bicycle Facilities Guide, the Flemish Region recommends offering covered bicycle infrastructure where possible. Therefore, in our range of stop facilities, you will also find a covered bicycle shelter with space for eight or ten bicycles. The bicycle shelter is equipped with a solar panel: a connection to the electricity grid is therefore not needed.

Benches
If you order a new type A or B shelter, one bench is included. The prices below are only valid for the delivery of a new bench that is installed separately. This price excludes the concrete base.
Trash cans
If you order a new shelter, one trash can is automatically included. The prices below are only valid for the delivery of a separate trash can. This price includes the concrete base.
Custom design
We also offer the option to install custom-designed shelter infrastructure. Before starting construction, De Lijn must approve the design and placement.
Review the handbook and checklist that list the specifications the stop infrastructure must meet.

We will assess your design based on the criteria in the handbook.
If adjustments are needed, the plans can still be modified in time.
We will return the completed checklist to you.
Advertising shelters
An advertising shelter is installed free of charge by an advertising company. In return, the company is allowed to place advertisements on the shelter walls.
This type is mainly found in densely populated areas.
The advertising companies decide based on the municipality's specifications whether they are interested in a stop.
De Lijn is not involved.
Like other types, an advertising shelter must meet legal standards.
It is advisable for the local government to include some basic requirements in the contract with the advertising company.
