Invest in sustainable mobility with a free network travel pass

How it works

Under this system you select an age group to benefit from a special offer. De Lijn then provides free travel passes for these age groups (Buzzy Pazz, Omnipas or Omnipas 65+). The travel passes are supplied on a MOBIB card.

How much does it cost

The cost price is determined on the basis of the number of residents in your municipality on 1 January the previous year.

We multiply that number by the unit price for the specific target group taken from the table below and the number of individual years within the chosen target group.

For example, if the target group is children aged 12 to 14 inclusive: the number of residents on 1 January of the previous year x 1,3895 euro x 3 (children aged 12, 13 and 14)

AgeContribution per resident
6-11 years€ 0,2086
12-17 years€ 1,3895
18-24 years€ 1,6800
25-49 years€ 1,3268
50-59 years€ 1,1698
60-64 years€ 0,5850
65+ years€ 0,6028

If you decide to offer a free travel pass to all age groups, please contact your customer manager for an amount per resident. Billing takes place once per year at the beginning of the contract year.

Satisfied residents

Residents are happy to be able to travel by bus and tram free of charge

We offer children up to 15 years old a free buzzy pass. In this way, we teach Ghent residents to use public transport from an early age. It offers children more independence and freedom and makes them less dependent on the car. Learned young is done old! It also ensures that children who grow up in families that are not well off financially still get to school. Because not getting to school because you can't afford your transportation, we don't participate in that in Ghent.
