What is changing in my province?Free night transport in the Leuven region
The municipality of Rotselaar offers its residents free bus tickets for night transport within Rotselaar and from and to the 9 other sub-municipalities on Friday and Saturday evenings. The buses run from 22.22 to 03 on these nights.
Your journey is free if you travel between the municipalities in the yellow zone. The yellow zone is shown on the map below.
However, if you travel to or from Brussels, Holsbeek or Mechelen, you pay the normal rate.
Do you have a valid travel pass? Show it to the driver when boarding. All other travellers can obtain a free ticket by text or through the De Lijn website.

Go to www.delijn.be/rotselaarnacht.
Complete a one-off registration with your surname, first name, email address and telephone number.
Then choose the number of free tickets you want to purchase (maximum 10).
If you are at the bus stop on a Friday or Saturday evening, visit the same webpage with your smartphone and activate one or more tickets by tapping the ‘activate’ button. Your active ticket or tickets will be valid for 60 minutes under the conditions mentioned above.
Show your active ticket to the driver when you board.*
Important:
You can only activate a purchased ticket from 22.22 on Friday or Saturday evening.

Text ROTSELAAR NACHT to the number 4884 if you are at the stop from 22.22 on Friday or Saturday evening.
You will then receive an ticket which allows you to travel for 60 minutes under the conditions mentioned above.
Show the ticket to the driver when you board.*
Tip:
Do you want to use one mobile phone to order multiple tickets? Text the order code followed by the number of tickets you want to receive. You will then only pay the operator charge of 0.15 euros once.
Important:
You will only receive a valid text message from 22.22 on Friday or Saturday evening.
Your telecom operator will charge you 0.15 euros to send your ticket.
* As a temporary coronavirus measure, you cannot board at the front of the vehicle. You must of course have a valid ticket with you.
