Ghent: changes bus platforms Sint-Pieters Station
SNCB,De Lijn and Ghent continue to work on the construction of a new Ghent Sint-Pieters station. Starting January 19, 2026, big work on train platforms 1 and 2 will begin, which also affects service at the bus platforms. We will be changing the platforms starting Monday, January 5, 2026.
15 December 2025 - Tips, information and news
Although the NMBS works won't start until January 19, 2026, De Lijn will implement platform changes starting January 5. This is because:
We make major changes at fixed times.
By doing this after the Christmas holidays, we avoid changes taking place just two weeks after a holiday period, when many travelers (such as students) return.
The changes will remain effective until mid-2027 to ensure everything runs safely and smoothly.
What does this mean for travelers?
Quite a few bus lines are moving to other platforms.
Some lines will stop at different locations within the station area.
Platforms will be set up at Princess Clementinalaan and Voskenslaan (the station's rear side).
There will be a drop-off stop at Queen Elisabethlaan.
At each platform, a new map will show:
Which lines stop there from January 5.
Where the current lines have been relocated.
Tips for a smooth journey
Plan your trip in advance and check carefully which platform you need.
Review the new platform map at each platform.

Your safety first during detours
We always determine in consultation with the local government the correct location(s) of temporary (end) stops. Our regulations also stipulate that drivers may only let you board and alight at these formally designated stops (with the local government).
This is to ensure safety, both for yourself and other road users.
From an insurance standpoint, you would not be covered for any accidents when boarding or alighting outside these formal stops. We thank you in advance for your understanding of this temporary situation and your courtesy towards our drivers.
