'Always pleasant on the bus'

Board the bus and head towards the wide world. That's what Godelieve and Jacques do with their Omnipas 65+. Especially during the colder months, they rely on this affordable subscription for all their trips.

Crossing Limburg, with a transfer

With line 33, the couple can easily travel from Meeuwen to Genk. They get on and off at the church, and the journey is always pleasant. "We like to go to the market or transfer at the station to other lines heading to Maaseik, Maasmechelen Village, or the hospital," says Godelieve. They also sometimes combine the bus with the car. "Then we drive to Linde to take line 48 to Hasselt – or park at a peripheral parking in Leuven when visiting our daughter. It's much easier to get to the center that way."

"Our Omnipas 65+ costs 67 euros," adds Godelieve. "It's really affordable. Although we actually should use it more often." The couple used to do that more when there was still a bus to Bree. "Unfortunately, that was canceled," says Jacques. "It's a shame, but we understand that not every village can have a direct line."

Importance of nature

For Godelieve and Jacques, the bus is not just a practical choice but a conscious one as well. They've noticed our electric buses. "We think being 'green' is important because we're really concerned about the environment. Nature has been damaged – and we truly want to do our part to help."

They also do their best at home. "Litter? You'll never see that with us. But we also sort neatly and don't use toxic products in our vegetable garden," Jacques adds. "Together, we're helping to create a cleaner world."

Working with our app

The couple knows their schedule almost by heart by now. "At 'half past,' we have a bus to Genk, and on the hour, there's one that goes back home. You always have to keep an eye on the clock," says Godelieve. To help with this, they downloaded the app. They added their favorite lines and stops to the home screen. "But honestly? I still find it difficult to use...," Jacques confesses. "Fortunately, a simpler version is coming next year. That's good news!"
