New! The simple mode of our app

Everyone has the right to accurate and clear travel information – even those who are not so digitally skilled. That's why we are now introducing the simplified mode of our app. With it, you'll only see the most important information, easily plan your route, and quickly find your stops. With large buttons and a handy menu, you'll easily find your way. In the simplified mode, you cannot purchase tickets.

For whom?

Everyone who takes the bus or tram has the right to accurate and clear travel information. You can find this in our app, although some people find it challenging to use.

Think of travelers who are not very tech-savvy, speak another language, or who are visually impaired or elderly. It is for them, and all people who need clarity, that we introduce this simple mode.

At the same time, this mode is not exclusive to those specific groups. Travelers who want to quickly plan their route or check a stop without using the advanced features of the standard app can also benefit from this simplified view.

What is the simple mode?

You can find the simple mode within our well-known, standard app, and you can easily switch between the two through Settings.

  • One action per screen

With the simple mode, you only see the most important travel information. You can plan your trip, search for arrivals at a stop, bus, or tram, and save your favorite stops and lines. You can still access your Settings or create an account. The latter is done via the known login page. Note, you cannot purchase tickets this way.

  • Language = priority

We want everyone to be able to use it, so we pay close attention to our language. No jargon or difficult words, but a clear explanation. You can see this in a larger font, making it easier to read, or have it read aloud with the Read Aloud button.

  • Visually strong

More usability and fewer distractions – that's our goal. The Main Menu has a highly user-friendly and simple structure equipped with extra-large buttons. For example, if you want to return to the Main Menu, you can use the Back button at the bottom (or the arrow at the top left). And if you need extra support, you can use the Help button.

  • Thinking about the future

We want to continue making our app more user-friendly. That's why there is already a contextual help feature in the simple mode, and an AI assistant will be added later. We will evaluate how well this works and whether it is useful for the regular app.

How did the simple mode come about?

To make the simple mode as inclusive as possible, we visited many interest organizations. Various autism associations, the Senior Council Leuven, Our New Future, Digibanken, and Mediawijs welcomed us for user research. They helped us determine which features belong in the simple mode.
