Our New Year’s Eve services in Antwerp

On this page we explain how to request a ticket – and at the bottom you will find an overview of all our festive buses and trams.

Request your free ticket

• This ticket is only available via text message – Request it here – or through the website of your municipality.

• The free New Year’s Eve ticket is valid on all our buses and trams, including outside the participating municipalities.

Time to request your free ticket. This is done in two steps:

1. Register

• Go to our overview page.

• Click on the municipality where you live to be taken to the right registration page. If you want, you can also register via your municipality’s own website.

• You can only register if you are a resident, and from 2 to 31 December 2025 (17.00).

• After registering you will receive an email from us with instructions. This will tell you how to activate your New Year’s Eve ticket via text message.

• You can register up to five family members per mobile number. It’s important that you travel together, because although the ticket is free, all passengers must have a valid ticket with them.

2. Activate your ticket via text message (possible from 18.00 on 31 December 2025)

• Before boarding, text ‘EVENT’ to 4884 (+ 0.25 euros operator charge).

• Do this from the mobile phone number that you specified on the website.

• The New Year’s Eve ticket itself is valid from 18.00 on 31 December to 23.59 on 1 January 2025.

• If you’re travelling as a group of several people, you only have to pay the operator charge of 0.25 euros once. This is possible for up to 5 persons. How? Type a number of people between 2 and 5 after the word ‘EVENT’ (e.g. for 3 people: EVENT3).

• You will receive a confirmatory text message that will serve as your ticket.

Do you live in a non-participating municipality?

• You will likewise need a valid ticket on our vehicles. Single tickets, multi-journey tickets and travel passes are all valid for travel on our buses and trams, including the festive services.

• We recommend the New Year’s Eve 25 Ticket. This allows you to make as many trips as you want for just 3 euros. Plan your route using the route planner on our website or in our app.

Our New Year’s Eve lines in Antwerpen

Before we list which festive lines will be running in the province of Antwerp, we would like to mention the grand firework display in the city centre.

• For safety reasons, we will close Groenplaats metro station from 23.00 to 2.00 on the night of 31 December 2025 to 1 January 2026. During this time you should therefore use Meir metro station, where the same tram lines stop.

• If you want to enjoy the fireworks from Linkeroever, get off at Van Eeden from 23.00.

• Alternatively, take line 1, 10, 13 or 14 to the Kasteelplein or Bres stop to watch the fireworks. The organisers’ staff will be happy to point you in the direction of the Kaaien from there.

Tram lines 

Five tram lines ensure that you can enjoy the New Year’s Eve festivities without any worries. 

• 3 P+R Merksem – P+R Melsele  

• 5 Wijnegem – P+R Linkeroever  

• 9 Berchem Station - Regatta     

• 10 Wijnegem – P+R Schoonselhof      

• 15 P+R Boechout – Regatta   

Festive tram 

You can take the Zwaantjes – Eilandje – P+R Luchtbal festive tram until 6.00 on 1 January 2026. After that, we will switch to the normal Sunday service. The shuttle bus between Zwaantjes and Hoboken Lelieplaats will also continue to run at night.
