Cyclist Tunnel (Kennedy Tunnel)

The Cyclist Tunnel is part of the Kennedy Tunnel and connects Linkeroever with the South on Rechteroever.

What?

The Kennedy Tunnel for cyclists connects Linkeroever (the Beatrijslaan, near the bridge over the highway) with the D’Herbouvillekaai on Rechteroever (near the intersection with Generaal Armstrongweg). The tunnel is accessible via fixed stairs and elevators. You can ride through the cyclist tunnel with a bike, speed pedelec, or moped. You can also walk through the tunnel.

Why?

  • From Burcht or Zwijndrecht, you can quickly reach the Cyclist Tunnel.

  • On Rechteroever, you are immediately at Antwerp South.

When?

The Cyclist Tunnel is free to access day and night. Please note: every third Tuesday of the month, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., both lifts undergo maintenance. During maintenance, the lifts are out of service. You can plan your journey using the Slim over de Schelde app.
