Job applications to De Lijn

We collect the following information when you apply for a job at De Lijn.

To recruit and hire new employees, we receive job applications and conduct interviews. For this purpose, we collect the following information when you create a profile to apply for a job:

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Country/region of residence

We collect the following additional data when you apply for a specific position:

  • Criminal record check

Throughout the selection process, we request the following additional data:

  • Country of birth

  • Nationality

  • Bank account number (debt counselor, if applicable)

  • National ID number

These processing activities are based on your consent or are carried out in connection with the performance of a contract.

Source of the data

You provide the data as a job applicant. Temporary staffing agencies may also forward this data to us.

Disclosure of the data

If we use recruitment agencies or assessment centers to process your application, we will disclose to these organizations only the data strictly necessary for them to carry out their tasks.

Data Retention Period

We store your data as a job applicant in our recruitment ERP system, unless your application is successful. In that case, we transfer the data to our personnel database. As a job applicant, you may request that your data be deleted or anonymize it yourself at any time.

Use of AI

De Lijn uses AI tools only to a limited extent in the application process. This may be done, for example, to clarify a pseudonymized resume or to assist in drafting a job description. An AI tool never makes decisions, such as whether to proceed with an application process. AI is also not used for scoring, ranking resumes, or during interviews. There is always human intervention, and the decision is made by De Lijn employees.
