De Lijn Flex: tickets and fares
Is all or part of your journey impossible to do by regular public transport? If so, De Lijn Flex may offer a solution! The rates and tickets for flexible transport are slightly different. You can read more about this here.
Booking De Lijn Flex
Find out via the De Lijn Flex-planner in the De Lijn Flex-app or via our website or centre whether the flexbus offers a solution for you. Can you take the flexbus within your travel route? Then be sure to book your ride on time. You can do this from 30 days to 30 minutes in advance.
Paying for De Lijn Flex
You can pay for your flexride with a digital De Lijn ticket.
Not all electronic cards are valid on flexible transport, so we recommend purchasing digital tickets via:
through the De Lijn app or website.
by text message. For a regular ticket text DL to 4884, and for a day ticket send DLD to 4884.
You can also use your travel pass, of course. Be sure to register your travel pass in advance via the De Lijn Flex-switchboard (or in the near future via the De Lijn Flex-app). This way, the driver knows that you are okay, as you cannot scan this on the flexbus.
Exception: an electronic ticket
If you’re travelling with an electronic card, show this to the driver and pay for your ride with your bank card. You can do this at the standard fares of:
3 euro
2.10 euroif you use a 10-journey ticket.
1.80 euros if you use a 50-journey ticket.
1 euro if you are entitled to a municipal discount.
Of course, if you only show your electronic card, no journeys will be deducted from the multi-journey ticket.
The driver will give you a De Lijn Flex ticket. That ticket
is valid for 60 minutes
can also be used to transfer to our regular transport (buses and trams) if there is still time left on your ticket.
Our general terms and conditions of travel apply to this ticket.
Other electronic tickets (e.g. day passes) are not valid when boarding De Lijn Flex for the first time!
What do I do when I transfer?
If you’re travelling with a regular De Lijn bus or tram, you should scan your digital or non-digital ticket or travel pass when boarding. And if you then switch to a De Lijn Flex vehicle, tell the driver which ticket you are travelling with. You don’t have to scan it again.
Ticket inspections during your journey
Before you get on
You are responsible for the validity of your ticket.
Has your ticket expired? Or will you be unable to complete your entire journey with it? If so, buy a new ticket via our app, by text message or at a payment terminal.
When boarding
Show your valid ticket to the driver or buy a De Lijn Flex ticket on the spot.
The driver will check the period of validity.
