Test runs in April

Throughout April, several test and driver training runs will take place. This allows us to prepare the restart of the line safely and smoothly. On 23 April, test runs will take place in the city loop on the route of tram line 11. A convoy of vehicles (a tram and work vehicles) will move slowly through the city centre in the new direction of travel. The tests will start around 9 a.m. and last approximately 5 hours. Car traffic may experience temporary disruption.

Keep the tram tracks clear

We have noticed that cars are still parked on the tram tracks, especially in Ommeganckstraat. This obstructs the safe passage of our trams, both during testing and once services resume. Parking or stopping on tram tracks is prohibited. Anyone doing so risks a fine and/or towing. This is necessary, as trams may never be obstructed in Belgium. This helps us guarantee the safety of our staff, passengers and local residents.

Your safety comes first

When there are diversions, we always determine the correct locations of the temporary stops (including final stops) in consultation with the local government.

Our regulations also state that drivers can only let you on and off at these stops that have been formally determined (with the local government).

  • This is to ensure both your own safety and that of other road users.

  • Also, from an insurance point of view, you would not be covered in the event of any accidents getting on or off the bus outside these formal stops.

We thank you in advance for your understanding of this temporary situation and for your courtesy to our drivers.
