Halle: Free Entry to the Hyacinth Festival

In April, you can once again spot the purple blooms in the Hallerbos. Leave the car at home and enjoy free shuttles between Halle station, the city center, and the Hallerbos.

When does the shuttle bus run?

The Hyacinth Shuttle operates on the following days and times:

  • April 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, and May 1, 2026.

  • From 9 AM to 7 PM, during peak times, there is a shuttle bus every ten minutes.

Where do you get on and off?

  • Halle station: board on Vandenpeereboomstraat, near the station.

  • Welkomstlaan (Runway): use the extra boarding point if you park there.

  • Hallerbos (Parking 2 - Forest Museum): this is the final stop, right in the heart of nature.

  • Centrum: get off here and discover local shops and charming streets.

  • Markt: this stop is located in the lively city centre of Halle.

Free? How does that work?

The shuttle bus is completely free: you don't need to have a ticket. Standard fares apply on all other lines, like the R55.

Why choose the shuttle bus?

  • Environmentally friendly: less traffic and emissions in and around the forest.

  • No parking stress: no need to find a parking spot.

  • Quick and smooth connection: there's a bus every ten minutes.

  • Direct to the forest: get off at parking 2, close to the Forest Museum.

After your walk, get off at the Centrum or Markt stop and explore the charming city centre of Halle. Stroll through picturesque streets, discover local shops, enjoy a drink on a terrace and experience the hospitality in the many cafés and restaurants. This way, your purple forest walk gets a warm and lively continuation in the heart of the city.

Complete your visit with a stop at museum den AST. Discover the exhibition 'Halle in de kunsten, een beeldrijke geschiedenis'. More than 150 artworks and unique objects bring the story of the city and its traditions to life. A real highlight is the collection of colourful costumes of the Kleine Vaantjesboer, the ‘Halse Manneken Pis’, representing a charming piece of local heritage.
