Dial-a-Bus

If the train or a regular bus or tram service doesn’t provide a complete solution for your journey, dial-a-bus may be the answer. The dial-a-bus service operates in a particular area and has to be booked at a given stop. 

As an existing customer, you can book online or contact the dial-a-bus switchboard to find out whether you can travel with the dial-a-bus service. Bear in mind that you can only use the service if there is no other possibility with a regular bus or train, and that we can only book your dial-a-bus journey if there are still spaces. 

You can buy a ticketin advance at a sales point or Lijnwinkel store, from a ticket machine, by text message or with the app.

Booking online

Existing customers can book online (Dutch) under certain conditions. From 30 days to 1 day in advance.

Conditions for booking online

• You have already done the journey within the past two months.
  
• You have a De Lijn account.
  
• Keep your customer number handy.
  
• You want to book a journey the next day or up to 30 days ahead.

Booking by phone via the dial-a-bus switchboard

Simply enquire and make a booking if possible. From 30 days to 1 hour in advance.

Practical tips

• Quote your customer number.
  If you are calling for the first time, we will create a customer number for you. You must provide your name, address and telephone number for this. Let us know if you have a mobile number or an email address.
• Tell us the complete journey you want to do, even if you know that part of it will involve using a regular service or a train. We can then allow enough time for your transfer.
• Other information we need to plan your journey:
  • When do you want to leave (date and time)? 
  • Where will you get on and off?
  • Will you be travelling alone or with others?
