Pedestrian Tunnel (Sint-Annatunnel)

The Pedestrian Tunnel forms the connection between the Frederik van Eeden Square on Linkeroever and Sint-Jansvliet on Rechteroever.

What?

Via the Sint-Anna Tunnel, also known as the Pedestrian Tunnel, you can walk or cycle under the Scheldt between Linkeroever and Rechteroever. The tunnel is accessible via elevators and escalators.

Cyclists are allowed to ride through the tunnel at walking speed. Motorbikes or speed pedelecs are not allowed to ride through the tunnel; however, you can walk your two-wheeler through the tunnel. You can also cycle through the Kennedy Tunnel (Cyclist Tunnel).

Why?

  • On Linkeroever, you exit the Pedestrian Tunnel onto the Frederik van Eedenplein.

  • On the Rechteroever, you'll find yourself in the historic heart of the city.

When?

The Pedestrian Tunnel is free to access day and night. Please note: Every Thursday, the escalators undergo maintenance; the escalators undergoing maintenance are then shut down, but can still be used in principle. You can plan your journey using the Slim over de Schelde app.
