No more free tickets on the first Sunday of the month

The shopping Sundays in Ghent remain a constant feature. Together with the City of Ghent, we ensure smooth accessibility, but the free public transport on the first Sunday of the month is being discontinued.

Travel with a valid ticket or subscription

Anyone traveling to Ghent on these days needs a valid ticket or subscription. Tickets can be easily purchased online, through our app, or via SMS. Remember to activate your ticket before you board. Without a valid ticket, you risk a fine.

Please note that on shopping Sundays in 2026, no free ticket will be offered to take the bus or tram to Ghent.

All park-and-rides in Ghent

If you want to park in Ghent for a longer period of time, you can do so for free at a park-and-ride (P+R) outside the low-emission zone. At the P+R you switch to tram, bus or bicycle for a quick connection to the city centre.
