Music on the bus during Mobility Week

During Mobility Week, we treat our passengers to a musical ride. On four days in September, colleagues from De Lijn, sometimes accompanied by musical companions, board the bus or tram for a live performance.

From covers and Dutch-language rock to Leuven sing-alongs to atmospheric hurdy-gurdy music: every ride sounds different.

Where and when?

Ghent

Wednesday, September 16: Tram 1, between Gentbrugge and Flanders Expo, from about 8:40 a.m. to 10 a.m. Ellen Maes is a project manager at De Lijn and, together with a guitarist, performs sing-along covers under the name “Velvet Oceans.”

Leuven

Thursday, September 17: Line 11, from approximately 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Eddy Vanhove will perform sing-alongs, songs from Leuven, and campfire songs.

Antwerp

Friday, September 18: Tram 11, from approximately 5:07 to 5:53 p.m. Nico Hendrickx and several musicians from his band LUDO will perform Dutch-language rock.

Limburg

Monday, September 21: Line X44, between Genk, Maasmechelen, and Hasselt, from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Graphic designer Dries de Krom will play atmospheric music on the hurdy-gurdy.
