User manual real-time stop screen
1. What is the real-time stop screen?
This web application makes it possible to display information about buses (or trams) at one or more stops on a screen.
2. Areas of application of the real-time stop screen
The screen can display real-time information from nearby stops in hotel lobbies, hospitals or other key transport destinations. The idea is that the destination itself will provide the hardware, while De Lijn takes care of the webpage.
3. How the information is structured on the stop screen
A table shows upcoming buses or trams, the line number and the expected time at which they will be at the stop. If the vehicle’s position is known, the number of minutes in which the vehicle is expected at the stop is displayed. If the position is unknown, the theoretical departure time is displayed.
4. Structuring the real-time stop screen
The stop screen can display information about one or more stops. The stop number is used for this.
https://www.delijn.be/realtime/300894/8
The above web address (URL) shows information for stop number 300894.
To combine the information for multiple stops in one screen, simply add the stop numbers to the web address, separated each time by a ‘+’ sign (without spaces):
https://www.delijn.be/realtime/300894+305448/8
The above web address shows the stop screen with information for stop numbers 300894 and 305448. The lines that pass through stop 300894 or 305448 are shown in combination, sorted by expected time. You can add as many stops as you like.
Tips:
- Avoid combining stops located on one line in the same direction on the same screen, as the application will show the vehicles on that line twice if you do. The interval is the time between the two consecutive stops; this is very confusing for travellers.
- By default, eight arrivals at a stop or stops are shown on the screen. However, this can be adjusted by changing the last parameter: https://www.delijn.be/realtime/300894+305448/15
Up to 20 arrivals can be displayed; assigning a value higher than 20 has no effect. - You can also create a stop screen with white or yellow text on a black background. Use the same URL for this and add the following code: ?inverse=white of ?inverse=yellow. E.g. https://www.delijn.be/realtime/300894+305448/8?inverse=white or https://www.delijn.be/realtime/300894+305448/8?inverse=yellow
5. Find a stop’s number
Look up the stop (s) in our app or via the website. You will find the stop number under the stop designation on the stop page. The stop number is stated on the stop sign at the stop.
