Bruges: Free buses on car-free Sunday

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, Bruges will focus on sustainable mobility. In honor of Car-Free Sunday, the city is reducing car traffic in its city center and inviting residents and visitors to fully enjoy the numerous activities. To easily move around the city, travelers can use public transport within the Bruges area for free that day.

Where do you travel for free?

The free transportation is valid throughout the city of Bruges and applies to all regular bus lines of De Lijn. You don't need a ticket—you can just hop on.

Note: the Coastal Tram and flexible transport are not included in this arrangement.
