• What: Renewal of the track, the overhead line, and the tramway towards Knokke.
• Situation: The tram runs between Bortierlaan and Olmendreef in both directions on a single track.
• Stops not in service: De Panne Esplanade, De Panne Kerk
• Replacement stop: De Panne Kerk, at Olmendreef

Ostend: Northlaan and Mariakerke Bad

Ostend: Northlaan and Mariakerke Bad

• Start date: January 5, 2026
• End date: June 11, 2026
• What: Renewal of the track, tram track, and overhead line towards De Panne
• Situation: The tram operates between Vanthygemlaan and Luxemburgstraat in both directions on a single track.
• Unserved stops: Mariakerke Bad
• Replacement stop: Oostende Northlaan towards De Panne, approximately 300 meters past the existing Oostende Northlaan stop, at the Limburgstraat.

Knokke: Elizabetlaan to Knokke Station

• What: breaking up and renewing the track, the tram bed, and the overhead line towards the station
• Situation: The tram runs between Elizabetlaan and the station in both directions on a single track.

Your Safety First

During detours, we always determine the correct location(s) of the temporary (end) stops in consultation with the local government. Our regulations also stipulate that drivers are only allowed to let you board and alight at these (formally determined with the local government) stops.

• This is to ensure safety for both yourself and other road users.

• Insurance-wise, you would not be covered for any accidents that occur when boarding or alighting outside these formal stops.

Coastal Tram: Replacement Buses Due to Construction

To carry out necessary work on the tram infrastructure, we will be operating the last trips between De Panne and Oostende with buses on certain weekdays this fall. The replacement buses will follow most of the Coastal Tram route and stop near or at the stops.
