Coastal tram: safer tracks and accessible stops

To enhance your comfort and safety, we will be renewing various rail and infrastructure components along the Coastal Tram route in the coming months and years. With these works, we aim to ensure efficient tram service, modern tram infrastructure, and more accessible stops. Temporary inconveniences and delays may occur during the execution.

Your Safety First

During detours, we always determine the correct location(s) of the temporary (end) stops in consultation with the local government. Our regulations also stipulate that drivers are only allowed to let you board and alight at these (formally determined with the local government) stops.

  • This is to ensure safety for both yourself and other road users.

  • Insurance-wise, you would not be covered for any accidents that occur when boarding or alighting outside these formal stops.

We thank you in advance for your understanding of this temporary situation and your courtesy towards our drivers.

Coastal Tram: Replacement Buses Due to Construction

To carry out necessary work on the tram infrastructure, we will be operating the last trips between De Panne and Oostende with buses on certain weekdays this fall. The replacement buses will follow most of the Coastal Tram route and stop near or at the stops.
