Xtra time for the good life

From 1 July, the X44 will run from Hasselt to Diepenbeek, Genk and Maasmechelen – and back again. You'll soon be travelling on a route that offers xtra frequency and partly uses dedicated bus lanes. You'll also enjoy greater comfort, both at the stop and on board.

Xtra time for what matters

With the X44 express service, you can travel quickly and worry-free between Hasselt, Genk and Maasmechelen.

Between Hasselt and Genk, a bus runs every 15 minutes – and every 7.5 minutes during peak hours. Between Genk and Maasmechelen, service is equally frequent: every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes outside peak times.

Dedicated bus lanes help keep your journey moving smoothly, while our new electric buses offer a quiet and comfortable ride. Whether you're travelling early in the morning or returning home late, we're there for you from early morning until midnight.

The X44 operates:

  • on school days and during holidays from 5 a.m. to midnight;

  • on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to midnight;

  • on Sundays from 7 a.m. to midnight.

Key stops

From 1 July, the X44 will serve comfortable stops in:

  • Hasselt (Station, Dusartplein en Provinciehuis)

  • Diepenbeek (Universiteit, Wetenschapspark en Bewel)

  • Genk (Bosdel, Station, Shopping center, Molenvijverpark)

  • Maasmechelen (Endepoel, Centrum, Beerensheuvel, Eisden Pauwengraaf, Eisden Patro Eisden Maasmechelen Village)

Several roadworks will continue in Limburg over the coming months. Once these are completed, additional stops will be added. More information will follow.
